A Chicago father was shot and killed while sitting in a parked vehicle during a Facebook livestream, and police are still looking for the gunman.

On Thursday (August 14), 40-year-old Kevin Watson was sitting inside a car on West Madison Street in the South Austin neighborhood at around 6:14 p.m. when someone approached the vehicle and fired several shots, per PEOPLE.

Watson was taken to a nearby hospital, where he was pronounced dead. The Cook County Medical Examiner determined that Watson died from a gunshot wound to the chest.

The 40-year-old father had started a livestream on Facebook shortly after leaving a liquor store. Watson's friend, Alvin Jackson, who witnessed the fatal incident, said Watson had spoken to someone before returning to the car, where he was shot and killed.

“He was going to his car, then the guy followed behind him,” Jackson said. “So, the guy followed behind him and pulled the gun on him. He was trying to wrestle with the gun, and the gun went off.”

Watson's chain, which bore the name "Tugg," was found at the scene. It is now a part of the ongoing police investigation.

As of Saturday (August 16), no arrests have been made in the shooting.

Watson is survived by his 7-year-old son.
