My Chemical Romance Reschedule North American Reunion Tour For 2021

Big Day Out 2012 - Gold Coast

After announcing their triumphant return last year, My Chemical Romance planned to spend 2020 on the road for their first tour in nine years, but like so many other bands they were forced to change their plans after the coronavirus pandemic stunned the world.

On Tuesday (June 16), MCR announced that they've pushed the tour to 2021 and shared a full list of dates to give fans ample time to plan and get a refund if they're no longer able to attend the show. They also acknowledged the timing of the news in relation to the current state of the world in an Instagram message.

"As a band, we are deeply aware of the profound problems and crucial issues the world is facing right now," they wrote. "These issues are all life-changing, and we have them in the forefront of our minds on a regular basis. All of our focus should be on making the world better in every way we can. "

⁣"We would never want to distract from the challenges we are facing right now, but we feel it is the right thing to let people know that we have rescheduled our shows, so that we can offer people a refund on tickets in these difficult financial times," they continued. "It is a long time away, and there is so much for all of us to do to make the world a better place in the interim. We cannot wait to play for you. Take care of each other and yourselves. We will see you soon."

Earlier today, Riot Fest also announced its first wave of artists, including MCR and Smashing Pumpkins as headliners. See the band's announcement and full list of 2021 tour dates below.⁣
