Trump took a few moments to speak with reporters before heading out to his Mar-a-Lago home in Florida. He was asked about comments he apparently made that Democrats were "anti-Jewish" for not going to The American Israel Public Affairs Committee conference next week.
The 2020 Democratic candidates have announced they will not be attending the conference, but, according to The Hill, AIPAC hasn't confirmed any were even invited. The AIPAC is the lobbying organization Representative Ilhan Omar criticized earlier this year; her criticisms have been condemned as anti-semetic. Democratic leaders Speaker Nance Pelosi and Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer are scheduled to speak at the conference.
Reporter: You said Democrats are anti-Isreal...
Whoa, slow down there, wait for the question there, big guy...
Reporter: You said Democrats are anti-Isreal and anti-Jewish for all skipping the AIPAC conference, but you're not going as well?
Ah-ha! And how did Trump answer the calling out of this obvious hypocrisy? By saying Democrats are "anti-Isreal" and "anti-Jewish."
The Jewish Democratic Council of America has denounced Trump's comments.
"...stop lying about Democrats and Israel. Jews should not be treated as political pawns."
