Gov. Jay Inslee politely schools Meghan McCain on The View

Washington Governor Jay Inslee who has joined the field of hopefuls running to be the 2020 Democratic presidential candidate is running on a platform that focuses on combating climate change. He appeared on The View Monday to reiterate that.

"The reason fundamentally I'm running is because we need a president who will say this: America is going to defeat climate change, it is our destiny."

Meghan McCain, one of the conservative hosts, attacked him by parroting the ignorant Republican talking points about the proposed Green New Deal.

"When I hear that an average American is going to have to spend $600,000 for a Green New Deal, you can understand how people like me don’t think that’s logical."

Inslee related this to the non-existent "death panels" Republicans said were a part of Obamacare. She just nods, and then continues with that whole "they're going to take our cow and planes" nonsense, saying it doesn't sound rational.

"We’re talking about $51 trillion, the elimination of planes, the elimination of cows, a railway, no planes, I guess nobody can go to Hawaii anymore."

His reaction said it all...

But just in case people didn't understand what that reaction meant, he translated it.

"It doesn’t sound rational because those are the things that Donald Trump said."

He explained how none of what she said is true, and touted the great potential of America. And she answered that by giving him another opportunity to debunk the $600 million per household lie again.

Maybe someone in the Republican Party should actually read the Green New Deal, because that was embarrassing. She could not have slept well that night.
