Earlier reports suggested that Trump was working with his attorneys preparing answers to a questionnaire from Special Council Robert Mueller about Trump's knowledge of matters relating to Russian meddling in the 2016 elections. But Trump wants to make one thing clear...
"I write the answers, my lawyers don't write answers, I write answers."
He has the mannerisms of a TV mob boss when he says that.
Trump was taking questions from the press after an event in the Oval Office where he signed the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency Act. He seems to once again accuse Mueller of having bad intentions.
""I was asked a series of questions. I've answered them very easily. Very easily. I'm sure they're tricked up..."
You're sure they're tricked up? I thought you saw them.
"...because, you know, they like to catch people, gee, was the weather sunny or was it rainy; he said it may have been a good day, it was rainy, therefore he told a lie, he perjured himself.
They asked him about the weather?
Okay, so, you have to always be careful when answer questions with people that probably have bad intentions."
He reiterates, more than once, that he is the one who answered all of the questions, and says he doesn't need lawyers to answer questions, just to submit the answers, and to go over some of the answers.
Anyone else get the sense he didn't answer the questions... And why would he? Of course you shouldn't answer questions from a Special Council investigator about foreign influence of a US presidential election without lawyers. Everyone already assumed and would accept that he did, but he can't admit to needing help, to not being able to do everything on his own.
