A reporter asked Trump if he would rescind Kavanaugh's nomination if it turns out he lied about his drinking, and Trump said he doesn't think Kavanaugh did lie. And then he talked about himself.
"I'm just saying, I'm not a drinker. I can honestly say I've never had a beer in my life. It's one of my only good traits."
Whenever they're looking for something good, I say, 'I've never had a glass of alcohol.' I've never had alcohol."
Who is he talking about? What is he talking about?
"Can you imagine if I had?'
"What I mess I'd be."
"I'd be the world's worst."
Wow, I'm actually surprised by his self awareness; I kind of expected him to say something like, "I don't drink, but if I did, I'd be the best drunk, the likes the world has never seen."
Then he got back to defending Kavanaugh, or at least he thought he was defending him.
"I watched that hearing, and I watched a man saying he did have difficulty as a young man with drink."
"I really believe he was strong on the fact that he drank a lot and...
Kananaugh did mention he liked beer, and that he still likes beer.
"So, I don't know whether there'd be a big discrepancy..."
The discrepancy would be that Kavanaugh stated under oath that he actually didn't have difficulty with drink, that for as much as he liked to drink beer, he never drank to the point of forgetting anything, or passing out.
